Exploding, Plastic & Inevitable
A pop explosion of electronic music, hallucinogenic video and free improvisation came to Victoria on Sat. Oct. 21st 2006 and it came again to Digital Art Weeks in Zurich, Switzerland on Sat. July 14th, 2007.
The former event featured four screens of visual excess controlled by the warring talents of the Scheinwerfer collective from Zurich and Channel 10 from Victoria mashed with the rhythmically challenging metro-folk of NUTHRE, the experimental electronica of i send data live, and the robot electro sci-fi of Steve Gibson.
The latter upped the ante with five screens controlled by Scheinwerfer and Love&Olson set against the experimental-dub-ambient-electro of Steve Gibson and Jackson 2Bears. Agitpop appeared to channel the original spirit of the Velvets. A happening on the scale of it’s 1960s namesake.
